[edit] Clean-up
If they formed in 1998 then they are a "post-punk influenced" band. Will change.
- Are you saying The Rapture was influenced by the bands who were influenced by punk? It's difficult to understand. Zachkchk 04:28, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

- Saying that a band can't be post-punk in 1998 is like saying a band can't be punk in 1997... since there are bands that are influenced by punk bands from the first wave that call themselves "punk" (such as racind). I dont see why the rapture can't be a post-punk band that was formed in 1998
yes.
[edit] The Music?
Why is The Music linked in "see also"? I don't see the connection between that band and The Rapture, in both style and substance. If this can't be explained, I suggest it be removed and replaced with something more apt, like The Cure. Zachkchk 14:50, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
- I went ahead and removed the link to The Music and replaced with a more appropriate link, The Cure. I also added an additional link to Interpol. Zachkchk 09:27, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

- I agree with adding The Cure as a reference... but not Interpol... this guys are funky, so i added Gang of four and Radio 4... and i could add things such as Roxy Music, Depeche Mode, New Order... but i think that should be discussed first. To hell with poverty! 10:13, 6 September 2006

- I deleted Gang of Four and LCD links. No reference is given in the article that would lead the reader to need these links. The Cure seems acceptable to me, I would like to see Radio 4 referenced in the article to justify the link. I am sure there is a good reason for Radio 4 to be there, so I was hesitant to remove it. Does anyone agree?

- Gang of Four is a obvius reference to the band, the whole dance-punk scene agrees they are a main influence... the sound of songs like house of jealous lovers is a sound that Gang of Four invented... LCD Soundsystem is also a reference as the DFA produced their album Echoes

[edit] Notable?
Hi, this band published all of their own albums (singer's father owns a stamper) - they're not on a real label. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 142.161.75.98 (talk) 05:35, 13 December 2006 (UTC).
