This needs more about editions. Unfortunately, the American first edition was different from the British first edition. Several songs appeared in the US on the anthology album A Quick One. Also, "Mary Ann" was released as a single here, and "Tattoo" was a regular concert feature, hardly obscure. Ortolan88 02:00, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)

- Methinks you're confused, or else I'm not understanding you correctly. A Quick One is not a compilation album, it was the group's second album in the UK. It was retitled Happy Jack in the US and underwent minimal changes. The group's third album--this one, The Who Sell Out--was released in mono and stereo versions in both the US and the UK. The US mono is the same as the UK mono, the US stereo is the same as the UK stereo. Maybe you're thinking of Magic Bus? Some songs from Sell Out re-appear on that US compilation.

is it just me or does Entwistle appear to have two nipples? (have a look at the back cover) or is it just a blue mark?
I think it is a tattoo (most likely a reference to the song "TATTOO").
[edit] Medac - Clearasil
Ever since the Revision as of 04:33, 3 August 2005 by 203.26.177.2, it has been stated that Originally Moon was seen applying a tube of Clearasil, but the manufacturer objected and the cover was changed for the US and subsequent editions. Is there any evidence of this. I bought the album in the UK in 1967 very soon after it came out, and Moon has Medac. No one I know has any recollection of Clearasil. Might it be the case that they wanted to use Clearasil, the company objected, so they used Medac, but no albums were ever released with Clearasil? It would be very strange to include a track called Medac with a Clearasil picture on the cover!!!! Emeraude 22:26, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

The "Clearasil" cover is exclusive to Australia. I assume Australia received the sleeve proofs before other countries. The Canadian issue changed "Charles Atlas" to "Isometrics". --J2 22:17, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
