The 20th Century Fox Hour
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 20th Century Fox Hour was an hour-long dramatic anthology television series broadcast in the United States by CBS from 1955 to 1957.
During its run, The 20th Century Fox Hour was aired on Wednesday nights at 10 PM Eastern time. It aired on alternate weeks, the other program in the lineup at the time being The U.S. Steel Hour. Many of the programs were shortened versions of classic 20th Century Fox films, remade with a cast of newer, lesser-known actors and generally a far lower budget than the originals. Films receiving this treatment included The Ox-Bow Incident, Junior Miss, The Late George Apley, and Miracle on 34th Street, among others.
