The Box (reality tv series)

The Box is a reality game show series broadcast on TV3 Ireland, which ran for 3 weeks in October 2006. The show was presented by former Boyzone member Keith Duffy.
The show saw, two contestants living in a glass box in central Dublin City (Wolfe Tone Square). While living in the box, each day the contestants were set challenges to win money for the kitty, in which they would go head to head to win in the quiz during the live broadcast. The winner, would win the cash and the right to stay in the box for another 24 hours, whilst the loser was evicted. A new contestant entered on each night. The two best players on top of the leader board after the 3 weeks, re-entered the box to win a car worth more than €10,000
The head to head quiz had 5 rounds
- Round 1 - 5 minutes - questions worth 1 point
- Round 2 - 4 minutes - questions worth 2 points
- Round 3 - 3 minutes - questions worth 3 points
The contestants could play or pass on questions in rounds 1 & 2 only. Questions would relate to the daily tasks and the daily magazine which the contestants had to read.

Match Up: The contestants had 2 minutes to match up 20 things such as Famous Mothers & Daughter and Member to Girl Band
Charades: The contestants had to performe 5 charades to one another
Smell This: The contestant each had to identify 5 correct smells
Feel This: The contestants each had to identify 5 things by touch
Where on my body: The contestants had to find 5 places on one another's bodies
Sing on: The contestants had to finish the lyrics of songs by singing the next line
Theme Tunes: The contestants had to identify 10 theme tunes from TV
The show wasn't a big success but just about managed to get the viewers interest and was the subject to parodies and jokes on Gift Grub on Today FM and The Strawberry Alarmclock on FM104.
