The Brave and the Bold is a DC Comics comic book that is currently in monthly publication in a second volume. True to the intent of the first volume, the title features team ups of characters from across the DC Universe.

[edit] Current volume
The current story arc starts with the teaming of Batman and Green Lantern, as they investigate the murder of a victim whose dead body appeared simultaneously in sixty-four locations around the world. The first issue takes them from Gotham City to Las Vegas where they find that this is a threat of extraterrestrial proportions. The second issue features Green Lantern and Supergirl tracking a stolen artifact to the casino-world of Ventura. The third will feature Batman and Blue Beetle.

The first volume of the series was published from August 1955 to July 1983. Originally an anthology series featuring tales of adventure from past ages (Silent Knight, Viking Prince, Robin Hood), it was reinvented (beginning with #25) as a try-out title for new characters, and again (beginning with #50) as a venue for team-ups between established characters, among which issues featuring Batman teaming up with various other characters soon came to predominate. Batman team-ups featured in #59, #64, #67-71, #74 and then every issue to the end of the run.[1] The final issue, #200, tied the title's Batman-team-up present with its new-character-introduction past with a story introducing the Batman-led superhero team the Outsiders.

The title has subsequently been used for a number of miniseries featuring superhero team-ups:
- A 1991-92 version of the title was a six-issue miniseries featuring Green Arrow, the Question and the Butcher.
- In 1999, there was Flash & Green Lantern: The Brave and the Bold, a six-issue miniseries by Mark Waid featuring the Silver Age versions of the Flash and Green Lantern.
There is also an episode called 'The Brave and the Bold' in the first series of the Justice League.

The series won Alley Awards in 1962 for Best Single Comic Book Cover (#42 by Joe Kubert), in 1965 for Best Comic Book Cover (#61 by Murphy Anderson), and in 1968 for Best Full-Length Story ("Track of the Hook" in #79 by Bob Haney and Neal Adams).
