The Commies are Coming, the Commies are Coming (1962) is a Cold War-era drama, short subject film, starring Jack Kelly, and Jeanne Cooper. The film is a grim reminder to Americans not to take their freedom for granted. It was directed by George Waggner, and its alternative titles were Freedom and You and Red Nightmare. The film was among those films released at the height of the Cold War, including On the Beach (1959), Atomic War Bribe (1960), and Panic in Year Zero (1962).
[edit] Plot
A man takes his freedom for granted and wakes up one morning to find out that the United States government has been overthrown by Communist rebels. The film is quite similar to an episode of '"The Twilight Zone" which was a popular television series at this time.
