The Final Duel (4) (Japanese: 光の中へ完結する物語, The Story that Concludes in Light) is the 224th and Final episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. It was first broadcast in Japan on September 29, 2004 and in the USA on June 10, 2006.
Yugi tries his best to fend off the attacks from Atem’s most powerful trump card the "Black Magician." Yugi then plays his Spell Card, "Golden Chest of Sealing." The power of the Golden Chest of Sealing is it can negate the effects of another magic card that is stored in the chest. Yugi was finally able to defeat the "Black Magician" with his "Silent Magician." Atem tries to activate the Spell card Monster Reborn so he can revive his God Card God of Orisis, when Yugi opens the Golden Chest of Sealing to reveal the card he sealed. The card was "Monster Reborn". It means both of them can't use that card in this game. It is Yugi's message to another Yugi that "Those of the dead should not remain in the world of the living."

The duel begins with Atem’s lifepoint is at 700, he has already summoned the Dark Magician in the previous episode. Yugi summoned his Curse of Dragon. He draws and summons a monster in defense face-down and changes Curse of Dragon into defense mode. Yugi then ends his turn. Atem studies the face down card of Yugi. His thinks that the face-down card is Yugi’s Marsh Mellon. He draws and places Thousand Knives (Magic) into play. Atem uses Dark Magician to command the knives to destroy the face-down Marshmellow and prevents the special effect from activating. Atem then commands Dark Magician to attack Curse of Dragon and clears Yugi's side of the field. Yugi draws his next card and summons Blockman in face-up defense. He then sets a card face-down on his field. He ends his turn with just that. Atem draws and equips Dark Spear to Dark Magician. Dark Spear allows Atem to attack a defense monster and subtract the difference from Yugi's lifepoints as if it were in attack mode. He commands it to attack Yugi's Blockman but Yugi counters with his set card, Soul Shield. A shield forms around Blockman and repels the Dark Magician's attack as well as ends Atem's Battle Phase, but Yugi sacrifices half of his lifepoints as a result. Yugi now has 400 LP. Atem can only end his turn then.
Yugi draws and puts The Gold Sarcophagus into play. Yugi takes a card from his deck and place it into the confines of the chest. The card is lowered into the chest with the back facing Atem so only Yugi knows what card he placed within. The chest closes again but remains suspended on the field.
Yugi continues with his turn in the meanwhile. He activates Blockman's special effect and Blockman separates into two different monsters. With these two monsters, Yugi then sacrifices the two to summon Destructive Dragon Gondola.
Yugi then activates Gondola's special effect. By sacrificing half of his lifepoints and Gondola, Yugi can destroy all monsters on the field. Atem, however, counters with his set trap card, Dark Illusion. Dark Magician vanishes from the field right before it is hit by Gondola's attack and Gondola is defeated. Dark Magician reappears on the field as Atem explains the trap's effect. It also calls for Yugi to draw one card. Yugi sets two cards face down and ends his turn.
Everyone else in the audience is worried for Yugi. Yugi has an open field with only 200 LP left. It appears Atem may win this one. Atem draws a card and calls for Dark Magician to attack Yugi directly. However, Yugi reveals one of his set cards, Magician's Circle. The effect of the trap is such that when a player is attacked by a Magician monster, the player is allowed to special summon a Magician monster from his or her own deck. Yugi chooses Silent Magician in attack mode. However, the card effect also extends to Atem. Atem chooses Dark Magician Girl in attack mode. Atem tells Dark Magician to attack Silent Magician. Yugi seems to brace for the attack. Black Magician comes ever so closer to wiping out Silent Magician. He draws the Treasures of Heaven. As a result, Atem and Yugi draw six cards each and adds them to their hands.
Silent Magician's special effect is activated. For each card the opponent draws from his deck, Silent Magician gains a level and 1000 attack points each card. Thus, Silent Magician is now at level 5 with 3500 attack points. Dark Magician is then forced into following through with Atem's command but its attack power is now 200 points less than that of Silent Magician. Dark Magician Girl turns to Atem and the two share a look. Atem plays the quick-play magic card, Magician's Cross. It causes Dark Magician Girl to join in with Dark Magician's attack, resulting in an attack strength of 3000 points. Both Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl are defeated as a result but Atem only loses 500 LP. Atem says that even though Dark Magician is defeated, his life still remains. He then continues to tell Yugi that Yugi's Treasures of the Heaven has given him the card he needs to win. That card is Reborn the Monster. Atem uses it to revive Slifer The Sky Dragon. Since Slifer's attack points are based on the number of cards in the player's hand, it has an attack strength of 4000. The golden chest Yugi set on the field begins glowing. It lowers itself as the lid is rolled back. Light pours out and shines brightly from inside the chest. The audience watch avidly as the sealed card within is lifted up and unveiled. It is Monster Reborn.
Yugi's body shakes with suppressed tears. With tears in his eyes, Yugi orders Silent Magician to directly attack Atem. Silent Magician shoots an orb of blinding light out of its staff and wipes out the last of Atem's lifepoints. The monsters and the chest fade away in orbs of rainbow colors. The duel is over. Yugi has won. Yugi collapses onto his knees and is unable to hold back the tears anymore. Yugi cries along with his friends wishing that Atem could stay.
In an epilogue scene after a special one-off ending credit sequence, Yugi and his friends walk into the sun with Yugi saying the last line of the show, "This isn't a story of a Pharaoh, everyone has their own story, the Story that concludes in the Light. For me my story has just begun.". That is how Pharaoh Atem had his life, and this is the end of Yu-Gi-Oh!.

- This is the Final episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters
- Kids' WB! used the promo title "End Game" for this episode. However, this episode never aired on its supposed press time. 4Kids shown this episode before the premier of Yu-Gi-Oh!: Capsule Monsters.

- Special ending credits feature appearances by many of the characters from previous archs of the story , while the JP ending theme "EYES" plays.
- Although the Epilogue is cut from the English version, this was merely to prevent the episode from overunning. The famous line, "This isn' the legend of a special Pharaoh. Everybody has his own story....the story complete in the light. For me, my story has just begun" said by Yugi during this sequence is still said in the dub, but changed to "The end of one adventure is just the beginning of another"
- In the Japanese, Yugi has the last line of the series. In the English Dub, Joey is given the last line of the series: "Much better"
