The French Connection (videos)

The French Connection is a prolific producer of gay pornographic videos.
Although the company produces several lines of films in different categories, almost all of these feature uncircumcised young men with little body hair. Many are produced and directed by Brazillian videographer Nelson De Olivera.
Most of the company's videos are filmed in Brazil or Eastern Europe and feature local actors. Many of their videos have been successful enough to spawn sequels. This sequalization reached its most extreme extent with the Capoeira films, the 24th instalment of which was released in 2005.

The French Connection produced the following lines of videos, many of which were produced and directed by Nelson De Olivera:

18 Today (also known as "18 Today International) is a line of twink videos. Most of these are filmed in Brazil although some are made in Europe and at least one uses actors from the United States. Many of these videos fetishize youthful activities such as scouting, secondary school attendance and sports through the use of appropriate costumes and settings.

Black and Tan is the line which produced the company's two dozen Capoeira videos based upon the Brazilian sport of that name and featuring mostly actors of discernible Afro-latino ethnicity. As in most other Latin Connection videos, sexual encounters are presented with a degree of tenderness indicated by kissing and playfulness. Highlighting the contrast between these and many American gay porn movies with banjee-type actors, the company advertizes these as having "No thugs, no gangstas, just the hottest, most beautiful black men in the Southern Hemisphere."[1]

Belo Amigo is a line of videos produced in Brazil and mostly centered around apheretic themes such as futebol, swimming and auto racing. Other videos in this line fetishize the criminal underworld of the favelas and at least one uses the sexual exploits of a Catholic priest as its focus. The Belo Amigo series seems to be a thematic mid-point between the 18 Today line and the Black and Tan line and uses actors from both.

Cream of the Crop is a series of videos produced primarily in France but a some were made in Germany, Africa and elsewhere. Directed by names such as Tulani Cosi and Stephane Berry, these may be the videos from which French Connection gets its name. They are not, however, featured on the company website and the company may no longer hold the right to their distribution.

JNRC America are Brazilian-made videos that take their name from French videographer Jean Noel Rene Clair. These videos feature "more masculine group of models" that tend to be a little older and more hirsute than those in the video lines previously mentioned.[2]

Young and Uncut is a series of videos made in Europe with both solo scenes and sex scenes. As the title indicates, special attention is paid to the actors' foreskins. As these videos no longer appear on the company website, French Connection may no longer possess the distribution rights.

Amateur Straight Guys is a line of videos made from material produced for the website of the same name. As the title indicates, these videos feature ostensibly heterosexual men performing a variety of sexual acts. Like videos made by Brad Posey and Sean Cody, the Amateur Straight Guys videos have no "fourth wall".

G.F.I. is a line of older videos made in the United States to which the French Connection company has acquired the copyrights. One takes place in a jail, another in a public park and a third focuses on an incestuous relationship.

Manhunter is a line consisting of a handful of Bear videos distributed by French Connection.

On Top Productions is line consisting of a few movies featuring muscular American actors akin to the material produced by Colt Studios and similar operations.

Pantheon Productions is a line represented by the Daddy Hunt series which focuses on sexual encounters between young men and older men. The Real Men series features mature actors and barebacking.

Talos Entertainment produces films that are "Part smut flick, part horror movie" and feature light S&M.

Wholesome Films is a newer and smaller line that features muscular Czech actors barebacking. One of these videos is based around a construction site and another takes place in a reform school.
