The Gophers
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Gophers was a short lived British sitcom which used a combination of live actors in animatronic animal suits and hand operated puppets. It was created by Channel 4 in the late 1980s or early 1990s. It was also broadcast by the Dutch VPRO.
The basic storyline was a "culture-clash" comedy involving a family of easy-going American gophers moving to Britain, and living next door to an uptight family of English rabbits. Adding to the confusion was a mysterious energy crystal hidden in the Gophers' home, which was sought by the mad scientist Dr Wince, and often produced strange effects.
