The Hamsters are a British band that came out of the pub circuit in Southend. The band have gained the reputation as 'the hardest working band in the UK', due to their heavy tour schedule, often involving gigs at least 3 times a week all over the UK.
Always derivative but highly polished, their music initially was heavily based on that of Jimi Hendrix - Snail's Pace Slim being an excellent re-interpreter of his music. During this early period they released the album Electric Hamsterland. Later they incorporated the music of ZZ Top into their act.
