The Hermitage, Dunkeld
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Hermitage is a National Trust for Scotland-protected site in Dunkeld, Perth and Kinross. Located just to the west of the A9, it sits on the banks of the River Braan. It is home to Ossian's Hall and Ossian's Cave, a pair of Victorian follies, reportedly built by the Dukes of Atholl in the 18th century.[1]
Also in its ground is a Douglas-fir that was once (or is,[2] depending on which source one reads), at 59 metres (194 feet), the tallest tree in the United Kingdom.[3]
