The Hotel Inspector
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Hotel Inspector is an observational documentary made for British terrestrial television channel, five. Each hour long episode features one struggling British hotel, as series presenter and hotel guru Ruth Watson, tries to turn around their fortunes. Ruth has her own brand of straight talking, practical advise - she certainly doesn't pull her punches when telling the hoteliers what they're doing wrong. Whilst at first many of the hoteliers resist her changes, they all take on board what she has to say eventually, making their hotels better places for us all to stay.
The first series aired in 2005, the second in 2006 and a third series has been ordered by five to be broadcast in 2007. The second series attracted 2.5 million viewers at its peak, one of the best rated original programmes on five at that time. In November 2006 the series won a Royal Television Society Award.
The series is made by British production company, Twofour Broadcast, who are currently advertising for hotels to apply to be on the third series. The series is also broadcast by various networks around the world.
