The Jefferson Square is the city of Pine Bluffs first major shopping center. The open-air shopping center first opened in the early 1960s on Olive Street. The shopping center has made Olive one of the city's busiest streets. It has about 60-70 stores.

In the years after the opening of The Pines Mall in 1986 many of Jefferson Square's stores have closed. Quite a few of the stores were moved to the mall.

In recent years new stores have opened in Jefferson Square.
