[edit] Overveiw
The musical starts with Baloo and Bagheera introducing the book while wolves find baby Mowgli. As the trees played by the students sing "The Jungle Book". The wolves hand the baby to Begheera who holds to him until he is grown. He finds the whereabouts of Shere Kahn and insists that Mowgli must get out of the jungle. Then, as Bagheera is sleeping, Kaa the Snake appears and tries to hypnotize Mowgli. After the fifth and third grade students sing "Trust in Me", Bagheera wakes up and slaps Kaa. Then the sing "Kaa the Snake". Colonel Hathi's group comes (with a kindergartener playing Junoir) say that Mowgli should get out of the jungle as well. As they leave, Mowgli falls on Baloo and they meet. They start a bond and Baloo agrees that Mowgli should stay in the jungle and that he will survive with "The Bare Necessities" Then Mowgli is taken by three monkeys. They say King Louie has him. Baloo dresses like a woman and acts like he is flirting with King Louie as they sing "I Wanna Be Like You!" Shere Kahn comes and scares them all away. Mowgli runs away and vultures sing "That's what friends are for!" Shere Kahn scares them and the big chase scene happens. After Shere Kahn is defeated, Bagheera, Mowgli, and Baloo discover a girl named Shanti. This makes Mowgli want to go to the jungle. He then does.
