[edit] Making of the Album
This album was the first album by Green that he did not partake in its production as he had with all of his previous releases. Bill Maxwell yet again took up the role of producing the album as he had done with all of Keith's prior works. The album was made over a span of several months during 1981.
Most of the tracks on The Keith Green Collection were previously released on Green albums. The exceptions -- "Rushing Wind", "The Sheep and the Goats", and "Scripture Song Medley" -- were recordings of live performances.

[edit] Miscellanea
- A cassette tape version of this album was released with the same album artwork in 1981 under the Sparrow Records label. Like the LP album version, it was produced by Bill Maxwell. The cassette version includes a song that is not in the album version: Soften Your Heart 2:51. The tape also has a 1-minute introduction on side 1 introducing Keith Green.
