[edit] Episode recap
Orson has survived the fall, but is very injured. A psychiatrist visits Orson's hospital room to get to the bottom of why he got injured, as per hospital regulations. Orson reveals his family's dark history to the psychiatrist; his father, Edwin, cheated on Gloria. Edwin felt so guilty, he committed suicide. Gloria blamed Orson for the death, leading to Orson checking into the mental hospital. Orson's father, Edwin, appears in a flashback. Bree is told that Orson attempted suicide. Susan is at the hospital with Ian, picking up Jane's personal effects, which have been mixed up with Mike's. Ian finds the engagement ring Mike had been planning on giving to Susan, and hides it before Susan can see it. Susan sees Andrew visiting the hospital and asks him why he's there; he replies that he was visiting Bree. Susan hadn't heard about Bree's fall and rushes to see her. They resume their friendship after Bree tells Susan she knows Mike's innocent, and that Bree is going to go to the police.
Tom and Lynette open their pizzeria. Hours before it opens, Lynette realizes that she accidentally ordered high chairs instead of regular chairs for the seats. Lynette is able to arrange for a mismatched "bohemian vibe" group of chairs to be in place, which she and Tom fight about. The residents of Wisteria Lane come together for the grand opening. Edie toasts Tom and the opening, and Tom makes a speech in which he realizes Lynette was doing her best, and is overcome with emotion. Lynette steps up and thanks everyone for coming. In the spirit of the moment, Ian and Susan get engaged. Also in front of the crowd, Zach asks Gabrielle to marry him, and she drags him off and tells him it isn't working out for them to be just friends, as Carlos helped Gabrielle figure out that Zach was lying about having slept with Gabrielle. Zach leaves. Carlos brings Gabrielle a beer and says he can understand how Zach feels. He says it's getting really hard to just be Gabrielle's friend and confidante. Gabrielle asks Carlos to please hang in as long as he can because she still needs him.
Gloria tells Alma she's going to take care of Bree. Alma tries to pry a window in the attic loose and get out. Gloria goes to Bree's house with some soup and convinces Danielle that she should go to the grand opening and "turn boys' heads". Danielle thanks her "grandma" and leaves. As she leaves, Alma finally gets out of the attic, but slips off the roof and falls to the ground below. Gloria drugs the soup with sleeping pills, and tells Bree she's really sorry that she has to do this, because Bree didn't know Orson already had a wife, but Orson did, and Gloria won't let him be his father's son. It was easy to kill Monique, because she was a slut, in Gloria's eyes.
Meanwhile, Andrew sees Danielle at the party and yells at her for leaving Bree. Danielle yells back that Gloria's watching her so it's no big deal, but Andrew tells her that Orson tried to kill their mother, and now Danielle let Gloria watch Bree? Andrew races off to save his mother, as Gloria prepares a bath for Bree, and sets it up to look like Bree slit her wrists in the bath. Orson figures out that Bree is at home, and that Gloria called to make sure he was staying overnight. He sneaks away from the hospital and takes a cab home. Andrew gets there before he does. Gloria hears a car screeching outside and looks out to see Andrew racing in. She hides on the landing and when Andrew starts upstairs, she hits him in the face with her cane and he falls down the stairs. Orson arrives a short time later and sees Andrew crumpled at the foot of the stairs, still groggy. Orson makes it upstairs as best he can and suddenly flashes back to when he found his father in the tub. He looks at Gloria, and says she's done this before, realizing that Gloria killed his father. Gloria lunges for Bree's exposed wrists with a knife from the kitchen, but Orson grabs her hand and knocks it to the floor, throwing Gloria to the floor in the process. He tried to get to Bree, but Gloria hits him with her cane and stops him. Finally, She tries for the knife again, but Orson holds her head under the water, then throws her hard against the wall. He gets Bree out of the tub and into bed. Andrew comes in and asks if Bree is alright. Orson tells him to get some blankets and dry clothing for Bree.
Gloria calls to Orson and he goes in to look at her. She says something's wrong; she thinks she's having a stroke. Andrew asks him if Gloria is all right, but he decides she won't die in the house. He takes her over to Alma's house, and sees Alma in the flower bed, dead from her fall. He then figures out a plan, which he later tells Bree. He'll arrange to have Gloria found next to Alma's body, where she'll have had her stroke, along with the bag of Monique's teeth, and the fake suicide note. This will clear Mike of Monique's murder, as the note implies it was Alma who killed Monique. Gloria has been completely paralyzed by her stroke. Her mind is working fine, but she cannot move or speak. Orson tells Bree that she won't get off scot-free for killing Edwin and Monique, because she's in a prison for the rest of her life. Orson goes to visit Gloria and tells her he's going to turn her head, so she can watch him walk away and out of her life forever. Orson then tells Bree that they are going to finally take that honey moon they never got around to. He imagines a happy suburban future with Bree and finally feels free of his past.
