[edit] Synopsis
As the episode begins, Stark has rejoined the Moyans. They are traveling through some kind of mist that does not give them much visibility, so Aeryn has flown ahead in a transport pod to make sure there are no problems. They lose contact with Aeryn momentarily, then find her again and she returns to the ship. When she arrives, however, they find that she is now suddenly extremely old. She claims she has been living on a planet beyond the mist for around 150 years, was unable to return, and was married and with a family. The rest of the crew don't believe her and feel she must have been exposed to something that aged her prematurely, and that they can fix. She points out several pieces of evidence, including a locket Chiana got for her that should have been brand new but that looks very aged. Also, Chiana and D'Argo argue, and Chiana admits "we aren't going to make it, are we?" meaning them as a couple.
Crichton returns to the planet with Aeryn, and it is a barren wasteland. She explains that it wasn't that planet but a different one where she lived, and that it only connects with regular time every 50 years or so, and then for just a very short time. She begs Crichton to leave quickly, but he is a few seconds too late, and gets stuck with her. They travel to the world she mentioned, which she calls The Favored Planet, and they proceed to live out their lives, with Aeryn and Crichton being very close friends. Aeryn is a widow, and Crichton refuses to marry. She teases him by telling him that inside her locket is the one true love of her life, and she says it's her husband, and John says it's himself, but he refuses to look to see, though Aeryn urges him to.
As the time for the favored planet's intersection with the rest of the universe approaches, the aged John and very frail Aeryn return to Moya in the transport pod, but Aeryn dies on the way there. Crichton opens the locket she has around her neck, and sees that the picture inside is of himself, which causes him to start crying at her loss. Then, he, Stark and Zhaan figure out a possible way to reverse the process, basically turning back time so they never went into the mist to begin with, so the situation never happens. This works, and only Stark and Zhaan know the truth. Aeryn picks up her locket, puzzled at why it looks so old, and she and Crichton open it to see what picture is inside, but the fragile contents disintegrate.
