[edit] Plot Summary
In the future, Christianity has been outlawed and the world is ruled by the Technarchy. A Catholic priest is given a mission by the Pope to find the body of the legendary Saint Aquin, whose corpse was said to be incorruptible. Accompanied on his journey by a robass, a talking and thinking robotic mule, he travels to where Saint Aquin's body supposedly lies. On finding the body, he discovers that it was not a man, but a machine -- a robot made in man's image that other robots revere as a god. The priest realizes that if a robot, with its perfect logic, believed in God, others can be convinced of God's existence by simply using perfect reason.
