The Sage School is an independent school for academically gifted students founded in 1989 located in Foxboro, Massachusetts. After first opening its doors in 1990 with 11 students and 1 teacher, the school has grown to 151 pre-kindergarten through 8th grade students who commute from a radius of 50 miles throughout the surrounding Boston and Providence areas. It is accredited by the Association of Independent Schools of New England (AISNE) and is a member of both the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the Massachusetts Association for Gifted Education (MAGE).
The Sage School resides on an 11 acre (45,000 m²) former elementary school campus which was leased from the town until 2004, during which year the school purchased the building and grounds as its permanent home.
The school is divided into three separate divisions known as the 'Primes' division (Pre-k through 2nd grade), the 'Juniors' division (3rd grade through 5th), and the 'Middle School' division (6th-8th). The middle school consists of approximately 40 students, with the primes and juniors consisting of approximately 110.
In the 'Middle School' division, classes consist of a Humanities Course (English and History), Science, Mathematics (Pre-Algebra through Algebra 2), a language program (either French or Spanish, with mandatory Latin courses), an Academic Skills course ("ASK"), and physical education.
