[edit] Things about me you never knew you wanted to know
I am an Existentialist. I don't fully understand what means, but I know that I am one. I'm also slightly Christian and Buddhist, and my grandma tells me I have a little Moravian in me.
I am also a dandinator, something with which I take great pride.
[edit] I like these dances
- The Carolina shag
- Swing
- The Cha-cha
- Contra dance
At a shamefully beginner level for all of them of course.
[edit] Youtube videos of Japanese Game Shows
This doesn't have much to do with what I do on Wikipedia, but they are hilarious.
- My personal favorite - 100 people come running up to someone completely randomly
- Toilet prank #1
- Sequel to previous one, people sit on a massage chair and it litterally turns on rocket boosters and goes down the ski slope
- Tounge twisters with a twist
[edit] Random articles and topics that I am deathly fascinated by
- African Union
- Homo floresiensis
- Existentialism
- Airship to Orbit
- Polywell
- Ringworld (just because it's the closest thing that exists to the Torusworld)
- Religion in Japan
[edit] Articles that I was tickled to see featured
[edit] Generic information
I'm a graduate from North Carolina State University. I studied the following things with varying levels of involvement:
[edit] SN Orgins
I use theanphibian screen name for a large number of sites on the internet. It came from my previous nickname of Mr. Frog, that my big sister assigned to me many years ago. When I started college I tried to register an AOL Instant Messenger screen name stemming from that nickname, but I unfortunately spelled "amphibian" wrong, and by the time I wanted to change it, it had been used so widely that it would have been a useless effort.
[edit] Wikipedia
I plan on contributing a lot in the future. We'll see.
- I plan on building a decent article on pretty much every University research reactor.
- I hope to contribute lots of information and organization to Japanese dialects.
- Yucca Mountain is my brute force project for the future, there's just a lot that needs to be done.
- My dream wikipedia project is on Megastructure, but as of now, I can't think how to reconcile my problems with doing so. I would like to give a material requirement comparison of all proposed designs, and of course I would love to share the torusworld in all of it's potential, but the no original work clause is a problematic, even for just commenting on existing designs. In fact, I find that to be a major Wikipedia problem/topic, and the one of which I'm the most concerned with. I believe that most people who write here know what they are talking about, and I believe there are other cases where the references themselves don't know what they're talking about. One way or another, I believe that the debate of Wikipedia's role in society has only just begun.
And so many more it would be useless to try and name them all.
