Joseph Anthony Pimenta (born June 20, 1988 in Belleville, New Jersey) is a talented up and coming filmmaker who just graduated high school. Joe enjoys going to the movies and that is pretty much the only thing he enjoys. Born of Portuguese and Italian descent, Joe has set out to make really crappy movies. After starring, editing, producing, writing, and directing the 2005 box office disaster Getting Pucked, Joe decided to focus more on fixing his movie then anything else. After the world premiere in late January 2005, Joe needed to make some very last adjustments to the film. As the product of some 11th grade American dream project, Getting Pucked took on a new life of its own after Joe Pimenta re-edited it and added in more footage and more songs. This led to massive amounts of copies being released in his school and a Getting Pucked fan club on MySpace. The 30 minute film took on a life of its own and is now considered an underground cult classic. John Rivera, a student at the high school where Joe attended, had this to say about the film, "A sleek and stylish cinematic experience, that elevated the viewer to the highest levels of euphoria!" After this glowing review, Joe Pimenta was quick at work for GPII, the sequel to the film about air hockey this time placing Joe's character of Lyle Shirley into a dreaded dance competition. The sequel's script was written and the first few scenes of the movie were shot in June 2005, but the project was scrapped due to the cast and crew's busy schedules and that GPII would have taken a lot of time to shoot. During that same month, Joe had an idea to make a cop show starring a Pakistani foreigner that he met. Hafeez: Off Duty was the show and it was an instant success, but production was halted during the second episode when the main star of the show refused to participate with Joe's direction and script. After 3 days in the duration of 3 months, the episode was completed and the main star, M. Umair Hafeez, told Joe that he was done with making the show and anymore movies. Joe still considers this the best thing he has ever made and has since asked Hafeez to make a third episode, but Hafeez still refuses as of this day. In December 2005, Joe made a short documentary with his co-star from Hafeez: On Duty, Alex Figuieredo. This short film showcased a day in the life of Alex and featured a raw and candid interview with the star. Alex Figuieredo: Raw, Candid and Uncut was shown in limited release and is considered to be the only misfire in Joe and Alex's career. The film, however, is very popular in Sweden. Joe and Alex were to be making a spinoff of Hafeez: On Duty featuring their characters, but has been reworked into an entirely different film. Out of Whack features the two doing what they do best. Out of Whack is currently in pre-production and is scheduled to begin filming sometime in the summer of 2006.
