Thomas Davis (born March 22, 1983 in Shellman, Georgia) is an American football linebacker for the Carolina Panthers. He was selected with the 14th overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft out of the University of Georgia. He attended Randolph-Clay Middle/High School and was highly recruited by many major universities. Even though he was drafted as a safety, he was converted to linebacker during his rookie year.
Davis is lauded by many as an excellent defensive player and is considered especially versatile, as he has played both free safety and linebacker in college.
