Thomas Heaton (born 15 April 1986) is an English footballer who plays as goalkeeper for Manchester United. He was born in Chester.
He signed for Manchester United as a junior player. He made his senior team debut on March 13, 2007 against a European XI charity match, where Manchester United won 4-3.
He played in the reserve side that won the 2004-05 Barclays Premiership Reserve League North title.
At the start of the 2005-06 season, he was loaned out to Swindon Town F.C., initially until 1st January 2006. During his time at Swindon he played over 20 games saving a penalty on his debut and described as "One for the future" by manager Iffy Onuora. He returned to Manchester United and after the recall of Ritchie Jones from Royal Antwerp. Heaton was sent there for the rest of the season after United rebuffed an approach from Huddersfield Town.He made his Manchester United Debut in a friendly match against Europe XI coming on as a sub for Tomasz Kuszczak.
