Thomas Henley
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sir Thomas Henley KBE (1860–1935) was an Australian politician, elected as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly.
Born in England, he migrated to Sydney about 1884. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1904 representing Burwood as a Liberal and Reform candidate until 1935. He had a forthright parliamentary style, boasting of his own success and the merits of hard work. Opponents called him the "great 'I am".
Henley fell from a Manly ferry and drowned on 14 May 1935 amid rumours of suicide.
