Thomas Rumbold

Sir Thomas Rumbold, 1st Baronet (1736-91) was a British administrator of India. He succeeded Lord Pigot as Governor of Madras in 1778. Gainsborough painted a portrait of Rumbold entitled "Thomas Rumbold and his Son".[1]
