Thomas Tryon

Thomas Tryon (1634 - 1703) was one of the earliest advocates of vegetarianism in England, and the most widely read in the 18th century. Benjamin Franklin notes in his Autobiography that he adopted vegetarianism after reading one of Tryon's pamphlets.
