Thuringowa Central, Queensland

Thuringowa Central is a suburb and the commercial hub of Thuringowa City. It is predominantly commercial and retail, but also contains a residential subdivision, with the area surrounding the suburb (and the suburb itself), also known by the locals as The Willows. Willows Shoppingtown is also located in the suburb. Thuringowa Central is home to many business's that are known state-wide, such as the North Queensland HIA office and the NQ Small Business Development Centre.
The main Council Chambers, Thuringowa Library, Thuringowa Soundshell, Reading Cinemas are also located here, Thuringowa drive is the main road of the city and most of the smaller business's are on this road. Most of the cities visitors did not know the location of Thuringowa's city centre, so in 2004 Thuringowa city Mayor developed the city centre masterplan and will be designed to complement the Riverway project, with The creation of a city centre identity Thuringowa will have the cosmopolitan and progressive city with a "heart" feel that the residents and visitors are looking for.
