Talk:Tickling fetishism

[edit] Really a fetish?
Going by the definition on the main fetish page, which says 'Sexual fetishism ... is a form of paraphilia where the object of affection is a specific inanimate object or part of a person's body" tickling is not a fetish, as it is neither "a specific inanimate object" nor "part of a person's body"
- I believe it may be a paraphilia. What about people who like tickling only because it makes their partner seem happier than may really be? That sounds like a reason for this 'fetish' to exist. Captain Jackson 04:51, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
What about devilish siblings that just tickle you because they're annoyed with you? And it's a fetish. Check any website that explores the love of tickling and you will hear it refered to as a fetish. 11:31, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, the actual scientific word for "arousal from tickling" is knismolagnia, which is a sexual paraphilia, due to the reasons listed by the original poster. However, most people refer to it as a "tickling fetish" due to an association between sexual deviation and "fetishes." Thus, while not the correct term, the commonly used term is "Tickle Fetish." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 129.64.141.43 (talk) 00:36, 31 January 2007 (UTC).
[edit] From fiction
I'm placing this here if someone wants to edit it
There was a "future fantasy" story from the 60's where somebody invents larger 22mm fish-eye "Happy Buttons" that make the wearer feel more light headed and happier; however, when another person touched these "grinning" buttons the wearer would be tickled by the "grinning" buttons. Needless to say, there was a lot of giggling and laughing in this story and featured the wearing of long scarves that could be used to restrain the ticklee at a moments notice or be used to restrain you at a moments notice for your tickling. Since the story took place in the 60's, there was no mention of sexual acts, just incredible amounts of helplessly uncontrollable laughter and utter abandonment to the wildly ticklish sensations from people fingering your "grinning" buttons and from people's fingertips actually devilishly tickling you. Tickling occurred all over town. Even the church service featured male and female ushers moving through the pews and touching parishiners "grinning" buttons; sending the hapless person into gales of laughter -- and this was written before the present phenomenon of "Holy Laughter"!
Any idea if this story is currently available online in some form? It might be a good idea to link to it from this entry.
[edit] Expansion
Have added a few more lines in trying to explain the fetish more precisely and roundly. Any other help appreciated in making this article more informative.
