Tohir Yuldeshev
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tohir Abdouhalilovitch Yuldeshev (born in 1967) cofounded the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, an Islamist organization active in Central Asia, with Juma Namangani in December 1991. The United Nations considers the IMU an Islamic terrorist organization.[1]
When anti-Taliban forces killed Juma Namangani, the IMU's military leader and cofounder, in Afghanistan in 2001, Yuldeshev took over the IMU's day-to-day operations as well.[2]
