Tommy Moroney

Tommy Moroney (born 10 November 1923 in Cork, died 1981) was an Irish footballer who played as a wing-half, or occasionally across the forward line.
Moroney started as an amateur at Cork United, moving to Charlie Paynter's West Ham United in 1947. He made his debut for the club on 1 September 1947 against London rivals Millwall.
Moroney played 148 League games for the Hammers before moving back to Ireland to play for Evergreen United. He later managed Cork Hibs.
He gained 12 international caps for the Republic of Ireland national team between 1948 and 1953.
