cascarinos irish grandmother
"He qualified to play for Ireland through the grandparent rule but reveals for the first time in the book that he has known for years that his grandmother was not actually Irish (she had been adopted)."
- Whether his grandmother was Irish by birth, or was adopted by Irish people, she was eligible for Irish citizenship. If his grandmother was eligible for Irish citizenship, then so was Tony Cascarino, and by FIFA's rules, if he was eligible for a passport, he was eligible for the RoI team. - I would contest that his most successful years were mainly in France - he was so unsuccessful at Millwall, that Villa swooped for him, rather than Teddy Sheringham! But I suppose that success = trophys? Best wishes, Lion King 11:00, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
