Tony Anthony (evangelist)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tony Anthony is a British Christian evangelist. He was born in London of an Italian father and a Chinese mother and raised in Canton, China by his grandparents. His grandfather trained him in Kung Fu and he became three times World Champion ‘master’ in martial arts (1987, 1988, 1989). Then, in his early twenties, Tony worked as an elite bodyguard, traveling the world protecting some of the world's richest, most powerful people. When his Swedish fiancee died in a car accident, he allowed himself to fall into sinister circles and was ultimately incarcerated in a Cypriot prison, in Nicosia. During six months, Tony was visited every weeks by a Irish missionary. One night, in a broken prayer, Tony Anthony realised for himself the love and saving grace of Jesus.[1]
Now, Tony Anthony lives in Southend-on-Sea, England with his wife and their two sons. He travels around the world to share his story to touch other lives. He is founding director of Avanti, a Christian organization formed to support the church in evangelistic endeavors.[2]
