Tony Mooney is an Australian politician and is currently the mayor of Townsville, Queensland.

Cr. Tony Mooney was first elected as Mayor in 1989 when he succeeded Mike Reynolds. Mooney is currently serving his sixth successive term and achieved almost 80% support at the last election in 2004.

Mooney completed a degree in education at James Cook University, Townsville.
