Toronto After Dark Film Festival

The Toronto After Dark Film Festival is an annual showcase of international sci-fi, horror and fantasy cinema. The festival has been running since October 2006 at the Bloor Cinema in Toronto, Canada,and features a diverse selection of feature-length premieres from Asia, Europe, and North America. The festival also supports homegrown filmmakers with a showcase of Canadian short films.
Toronto After Dark Film Festival's board of advisors include Colin Geddes, programmer at the Toronto International Film Festival, Pierre Corbeil, founding director of Montreal's Fantasia Festival, Todd Brown, founder and editor of TwitchFilm, and Rodrigo Gudino, publisher and founding editor of Rue Morgue.
Founding sponsors of Toronto After Dark Film Festival include Space: The Imagination Station, NOW, Rue Morgue, 24 Hours, Extreme Group Marketing and CKLN.
Toronto After Dark Film Festival's founder and director is Adam Lopez, an independent sci-fi and horror filmmaker.

The 2nd annual festival will be held October 19-25, 2007 at the Bloor Cinema in Toronto, Canada.

The inaugural 2006 festival was held October 20-24, 2006 at the Bloor Cinema in Toronto, Canada. The festival showcased thriteen feature films from around the world, and 15 short films from Canada. Some of the films screened at the festival included Special (film), directed by Hal Haberman and Jeremy Passmorewhere, the new J-Horror film Retribution (film) from cult director Kiyoshi Kurosawa, the North American premiere of the Thai action-horror film Vengeance (film), and Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, which went on to win the festival's first Audience Award.
Other screened films included The Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell, Shinobi: Heart Under Blade, Night Of The Living Dorks, Re-cycle, Mad Cowgirl, Slaughter Night and Naisu no mori: The First Contact. The festival also featured a Make Your Own Damn Movie! masterclass taught by Lloyd Kaufman.
