Toshimitsu Deyama (出山利三 Deyama Toshimitsu?, born October 10, 1965 in Chiba, Japan), better known by his stage name "Toshi", is one of the founders and the former vocalist of popular Japanese band X Japan, which disbanded in 1997. He has since devoted his professional career to so called "healing music", traveling Japan and other countries to perform acoustic concerts for small audiences.
Right after hide, the lead guitar of X Japan died, Toshi and Yoshiki played one last time at his funeral. It would be 10 years before the two would talk to each other again, which culminated in a visit by Toshi to see Yoshiki in his studio in Los Angeles. There, Yoshiki played a song he wrote just days after the death of hide, which Toshi then sang himself. This new song will form part of a new project between the two, but as of late, no further information has been released.
