This article is misnamed - TCAP does not stand for Transaction Capabilities Application Part; it stands for Transaction Capabilities. A quick scan of Q.771 would show that! Page needs to be moved to its proper name. 86.144.170.33 21:27, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Application Layer?
I also doubt that TCAP is an application layer on the OSI stack, even as SS#7 uses it; TC-Users are the application layer, with TCAP providing more of a session service (layer 5) - begin, continue, end.
