[edit] Design
The first design of the Transient Gallery was that of a series of white placards held up by the artists themselves or volunteers. Art was then exhibited on these placards. This was conceived as a parody of the 'white cube' gallery space which is now the standard in art exhibition.
A secondary gallery space was made on the 8th January 2007. A rough square (with verticies referencing the height of the original boards) was painted on the floor of a studio at Middlesex University's Cat Hill Campus. The white 'square' was, and is, named Arena 1b. It was named so because it is still part of the original space, but comes into existence through the absence of the first.
