Seeking Editor Review Commentary (If You Like)
Hi. In conjunction with my RfA (that you voted on), I have created an editor review, to give people a chance to comment as to ways in which I can branch out or alter my contributions to Wikipedia. An RfA seems to solely focus on how one's temperment and contributions relate to how they might handle administrative powers; the editor review opens things up a little more to a larger focus. If you feel you've already expressed yourself sufficiently when casting your vote, then by all means don't worry about it, but if any thoughts come to mind or if you'd like to expound upon any suggestions or commentary, it would be appreciated. In any case, I appreciated you taking the time to express your opinion on my RfA, and thank you for that. — WCityMike (talk • contribs) 19:44, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

WikiLove, in the form of a highway
Actually, I'm not completely sure if Highway 15 promotes WikiLove, or if it just connects a bunch of cities in central Minnesota. Regardless, thanks for putting the elk on my talk page last night, and thanks for noticing my contributions. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 03:54, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Question Re: Comment Made in Vote
In your vote on my RfA, you wrote: " ... the nominee still needs to participate in some more Wikipedian projects (especially something like AfD) ... " (emphasis added).
Of course, with the vote tally the way it is, this one ain't passing ... and I'm beginning to realize that I have a few areas of policy where I dunno, so perhaps it's good this one'll fail.
So, let me admit I'm not quite sure how a normal editor can contribute to AfD. Were you speaking of the nomination and voting process, i.e., you're suggesting I need to cast more AfD votes? That may come down to more a difference of philosophy ... although I'm not rabidly inclusionist, I'm more an inclusionist than a deletionist.
Or are you speaking more of a janitorial upkeep sort of a role? (I didn't think, for example, editors were the ones that closed out votes as "keep," "no consensus," "delete" -- especially since only admins can outright delete pages.) — WCityMike (talk • contribs) 16:59, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
- My comment on your RfA suggests that you should participate more on AfD not only through voting, but through commenting, giving suggestions, and citing Wikipedia's deletion policies. --☆TBC☆ (aka Tree Biting Conspiracy) 19:24, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

- Well, to be honest, I'm not incredibly keen on deleting articles. It's for the most part not my thing. I recognize the necessity, and there is stuff out there that I'd lend my 'delete' vote to, but it seems as if AfD is a rather big unpleasant mosh pit of uncivil hurt feelings most of the time — I'm honestly not sure it's the particular venue I'd choose to lend my non-article contributions to. — WCityMike (talk • contribs) 19:37, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Gotchi entry at wikipedia
Could someone please explain to this author of the Wikipedia entry for 'Gotchi' why Wikipedia wizards are against neologisms?
The terms Wiki, Wikipedia, Wikipedians are all neologisms. To delete Gotchi would 'hoist Wikipedia by its own petard.' Look that up your Funk and Wagnells. Some words are born. Gotchi is one. And it is a useful term and growing in usage.
Please let Gotchis live.

and for some early early Web 2.0 Mashup (another neologism listed in Wikipedia), check my collabs:

My Thanks
I wanted to drop a brief note on your talk page (one admittedly not written to you only, but nevertheless truly meant) to thank you for your vote in my Request for Adminship, which concluded this evening. Even though it was unsuccessful, it did make clear to me some areas in which I can improve my contributions to Wikipedia, both in terms of the areas in which I can participate and the manner in which I can participate. I do plan on, at some point in the future (although, I think, not the near future), attempting the process again, and I hope you will consider participating in that voting process as well. If you wish in the future to offer any constructive criticism to me, or if I may assist you with anything, I hope you will not hesitate to contact me. Thanks again. — WCityMike (T | C) ⇓ plz reply HERE (why?) ⇓ 04:26, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Spawntheeternal2.jpg)
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Spawntheeternal2.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Jusjih 07:47, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: Need for Speed
If the infobox links are redirects, we can still create new articles from them. I'm not in favor of bias towards NFS games after Hot Pursuit 2, thus the inclusion of all major titles in my previous edit. Besides, it high time more is discussed about older NFS games. I'll return the links after the redirects in question are expanded.
Thanks for the heads up, though. ╫ 25 ◀RingADing▶ 17:08, 17 June 2006 (UTC) ╫

Jesus Day Event
I removed the "Jesus day" event you added to the April 17 date article. It doesn't appear to meet the notability requirements for event inclusion as outlined in the date article project page. The short of it is that it just doesn't seem to have had much of an impact on the world or world history. On a side note, the title of the Jesus Day article and the content seem disjointed. The Jesus Day movement involved numerous government leaders, but the article focused primarily on G.W. Given your interest in the matter, I'm hoping you might expand upon the article a bit. Cheers! Signatures
I hear you are the man to go for this. I want to make a custom signature for myself; I tried HTML code in the nicknames section, but this did not work. Can you give me the basics of how to make a custom signature? I realize you are sick at the moment according to your user page so reply whenever you feel like it. Trading Spaces program and WP:UPH
Hello Tree Biting Conspiracy. I noticed recently on Esperanza's Trading Spaces program that you were listed as a member renovating another's userpage. I am here to tell you that the Trading Spaces program has left Esperanza and has merged into WikiProject User Page Help. WikiProject User Page Help is a new WikiProject designed to help Wikipedians with the technical side of Wikipedia, HTML codes, markups, etc. It has been discussed and the Trading Spaces program has been merged into the our new WikiProject. I have also come to invite you to our new project. If you would like to become a member, feel free to add your name to the list of participants. Whether you join or not, you're still free to join the Trading Spaces program. Cheers! — The King of Kings 22:17, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm sure many of you who are using monobook have noticed recently an ugly sitenotice saying something about wikimania and scholarships. Well, to remove that, put the following in your monobook.css:
/* REMOVE THAT UGLY SITENOTICE */ #siteNotice { display: none; }

My (Mtz206) RfA
Thank you for voting at my RFA. My Request was successful with 41 supports, 12 opposes and 5 neutrals, and even though you did not vote for me, your counsel was appreciated. As an admin, I intend to work on expanding my involvement in the project namespace. If in any point in the future you get the feeling I'm doing something wrong, do not hesitate to drop me a line. -- mtz206 (talk) 02:31, 22 June 2006 (UTC) |
Aksai Chin
I'm sorry, but Aksai Chin is administered by China and claimed by India as a part of its territory. [1]. =Nichalp «Talk»= 05:41, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, but nowhere in that page is it explicitly mentioned that India has ceded its claim to Aksai Chin. All that's mentioned is the clarification of the Line of Actual Control. This is an article from last year mentioning that India still has claims to Aksai Chin. Without substantial proof that India has ceded Aksai Chin to China, it would be wrong to come to the conclusion that the area has beeen ceded based on the "clarification" of the LoC. =Nichalp «Talk»= 05:04, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
Vandal Proof Denial
Thank you for responing quickly, you said I have 179 mainspace edits. What exctally counts as a "mainspace" edit as I see that I nearly have 500 edits in my contribution history. --DragonWR12LB 04:10, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi, Thanks for your comments
Do you really thing that is a high amount? Just curious, because maybe there should be a scale for individuals. I did the cite research on "A course in miracles" and basically it is unfounded. When I attempted to include the actual facts, I was harrassed by anons. :( Anyhow, it appears that one or two editors that new some of these people personally decided to try to establish notability rather than prove it. For these reasons, since I am mainly a "cleanup crew" person, rather than spend much time being trolled, I have decided to let the community make a determination for themselves. Hope this explains a little better, happy editing and good to meet you. Ste4k 05:36, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
