Named Tribal chief, the article should be about tribal chiefs as a rank or title only, not generally about tribe organization, composition, economy, cultural differences and so on, that's what I think. → Тодор Божинов / Todor Bozhinov → Talk 22:16, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

I think this should be a historical analysis of tribal chiefs, not just in the Americas, but in Africa , Polynesia, and other places. I think there should a main photo of a notable chief in the beginning, but I'm not sure which.. --Revolución (talk) 23:07, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

Todor above is right: although the article is called "tribal chief", it is currently an article about "tribal government." Eventually this may wind up being a longer version of the article tribe, unless some focus is brought to the article. --Kevin Myers | (complaint dept.) 06:39, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Luck = medicine = power

The Chieftain stub notes that Germanic chieftains had luck which seems to correspond with the Native American concept of medicine or power objects. Are there any other tribes who also had power objects? (Stones, feathers, etc.) --Ancheta Wis 04:44, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

The wearing of feathers (as adornment) was practiced in Borneo by the Dayak as well.
