Talk:Tribune Company

[edit] Critisisms
Changed from: "Tribune Company discovered that the Cubs are more profitable fielding a poor team" so that this sentence begins with the words: "Some critics believe".
Good to know this article was written by a Cubs fan, but the sentence was written as if it were fact and TribCo intentionally fields a losing team. TribCo wouldn't be too smart to intentionally field a losing team. For one the revenue from seating and food and drink in the playoffs is substantial also merchandise from the playoff season would be easy to sell, especially if the team were Division, League, or world champs since I don't know a Cubs fan without a 2003 NL Central Champion t-shirt.
Wrigley would still be packed even after the Cubs won a world series.
[edit] Tribune's possible departure from broadcasting!?!?
I have heard about Tribune and its consideration of selling 3 of its stations -- New York's WPIX, Los Angeles' KTLA and Chicago's WGN-TV... Details here... --WIKISCRIPPS 07 FRI NOV 10 2006 7:36 PM EST
[edit] Why isn't there a section about their stock and pressure from their share holders?
The Tribune Company is struggling, as you may already know. So why isn't there a section about it? Mr. Sun-Times THU NOV 23, 2006 1:15 PM CST
