Tri-College Consortium
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Tri-College Consortium consists of three private liberal arts colleges in the Philadelphia suburbs: Bryn Mawr College, Haverford College and Swarthmore College. The consortium allows students to cross register for courses at the other colleges. Haverford enjoys an especially close relationship with Bryn Mawr. The two schools share a student newspaper and radio station and have a fairly integrated student life.
The purpose of a consortium is to provide the specialization, flexibility and personal attention commonly found in a small college, with the resources of a larger university. Other consortiums include the Claremont Colleges in California and the Five Colleges Consortium in Amherst, Massachusetts.
