Trichy Sankaran

Vidwan Trichy Sankaran (b. Poovalur, Madras Presidency, India, July 27, 1942) is a South Indian player of the mridangam.
He has lived in Toronto, Ontario, Canada for many years and is a Canadian citizen. He is the founder of the Tyagaraja Festival in Toronto and is a professor of music at York University.
Sankaran has worked with the composer David Rosenboom.
His daughter is the musician Suba Sankaran.
