Tunisian franc

The franc was the currency of Tunisia between 1891 and 1960. It was divided into 100 centimes and was equivalent to the French franc.
The franc replaced the rial at the rate of 1 qirsh = 60 centimes. It consisted of both coins and banknotes produced specifically for Tunisia, although early banknotes were issues of the Bank of Algeria overstamped with "Tunisie". Later banknotes were issued by the Bank of Algeria and Tunisia.
The franc was replaced by the dinar at a rate of 1000 francs = 1 dinar.
