TV Land Awards
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The TV Land Awards are American television awards that generally commemorate shows now off the air, rather than in current production as with awards such as the Emmys. Founded in 2003, the awards are hosted and broadcast by the TV Land network.
Awards are given in various categories (which change from year to year) with input from visitors to TV Land's website who can vote there for their favorite choices. Awards can and have been given to both individual actors/actresses and to entire television series.
John Ritter hosted the first awards ceremony in 2003. Following his death, the 2004 ceremony, hosted by Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond), featured a large tribute to Ritter's own television contributions. Cedric The Entertainer hosted the 2005 ceremony.
The 4th annual TV Land Awards were taped on March 19, 2006, and were broadcast on March 22. The ceremony was hosted by Megan Mullally.
The 5th annual TV Land Award will be hosted by Kelly Ripa and will air Sunday, April 22 2007.
