Tyan Computer Corporation is a manufacturer of computer motherboards, including models for both Intel and AMD. They make high-end server, SMP, and desktop systems.
The company was founded in 1989 by Dr. T. Symon Chang, a veteran of IBM and Intel. Tyan is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan. North American headquarters are in Fremont, California. Mitac, a Taiwanese OEM for server manufacturers, announced plans for a buyout of Tyan in March of 2007. [1]
