Jason Curtis Newsted, (d. 4 Mart 1963, Michigan). ABD'li bas gitarist. Şu anda Voivod ve Supernova gruplarında çalmakta ise de asıl ününü, Metallica'da 1986 ile 2001 yılları arasındaki bas gitaristlik kariyerine borçludur.

Newsted'in Metallica'ya katılmadan önceki grubu Flotsam and Jetsam idi. Metallica'nın popüler basçısı Cliff Burton'un 1986'da trajik bir kaza sonucu yaşamını yitirmesi üzerine Metallica'ya katıldı.
