[edit] Akron U
Please tell me who took this edit out and why:
"The University of Akron is commonly incorrectly referred to as Akron University (or Akron U) not only nationally, but especially by locals [3]."
This is a pure fact and I can provide a countless number of sources and documentation if needed.
After all, even this article is redirected from "Akron University"
[edit] AAUP
So far as I can tell, no other university site has a link to a local chapter of the AAUP. Wikipedia is not a link repository and I don't see the local union as being of requisite value to stay. Rkevins82 04:03, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Public Universities in Ohio Template
This template was voted and approved during a period of approximately two weeks by Wiki users. It is functional and aesthetic. Keep.
- That's patently false. It hasn't been two weeks and the vote hasn't been closed; it's been 8 days. Template removed pending close of debate and I'd strongly urge the above editor to avoid making obviously untrue claims. Soltak | Talk 23:39, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Zippy
Zippy is a girl?!? where is the documentation for this. I can guarantee no students an the University know this. They all refer to Zippy as "he", or "him". I won't change it, but I would like to see just where that info came from.
- Zippy has a pouch. Only female marsupials have pouches. Thus, Zippy is female. Rkevins82 16:03, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

- If you go by that logic, then what the heck is Brutus the Buckeye? Buckeyes don't have faces, Or arms, legs, ect.

- How many female kangaroos wear hats or have zippers on their pouch? --Texnofobix 03:03, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Game servers
The University of Akron currently hosts several public Counter-Strike: Source servers. THe addfresses are:
- IP: 130.101.226.83:27015
- IP: 130.101.226.83:27017
- IP: 130.101.226.83:27018
- IP: 130.101.226.83:27010
Should these be inclided in the article? HawkerTyphoon 16:13, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- I say no --Dreaded Walrus 16:15, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- It is not what is expected of a Wikipedia article, it is also not relevant, nor official. University of Akron owns the IP block, that doesn't condone the activities (running servers, downloading / uploading via P2P) of the students assigned them. --UltraSkuzzi 19:30, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Best-known/most well known
Neither of these phraseologies constitute vandalism, and I will block both of you if you edit this article again. DJ Clayworth 16:48, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Black Keys?
I'm from the area (originally Ashland County, then Stark County), and I've never heard of this group. Especially considering that they dropped out of UofA, should they be included in this article? I'd remove them, but without a second opinion, I don't feel confident doing it.--Cheezymadman 20:09, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
