Union Players
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Union Players are a group of amateur playwrights which started in 2004 with their play Friday Night at the Union, a satirical piece exposing the goings-on during the downfall of the Melbourne University Student Union.
The Union Players comprise a number of members from a range of backgrounds, including (but not limited to) student unions, trade unions, and the wider political field.
Founded by Emily Andersen, Tanya Mammone, Steve Brown, Steven Denyer, Ashling Cardwell and others, its first show was a big success, and was given much critical acclaim by Landeryou, Andrew and other members of the Melbourne University Labor Club.
The Union Players have since created two more productions: Choice Stories (2005); and SatisFaction (2006).
The Union Players regularly take part in the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
