Union of Grodno
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Pact of Grodno or Union of Grodno of 1432 was one of the acts of the Polish-Lithuanian Union. It was passed in Hrodna to reinforce the union between the two states that had gradually devolved into merely a personal union. Despite the declarations, the decline of the links between the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania continued and were finally broken between 1440 and 1447. In 1447 the union was yet again reintroduced as a personal union that lasted until 1492.
