University of Maine at Machias

The University of Maine at Machias is part of the University of Maine System. The university was founded in 1909.
Located in Machias, the seat of Washington County, UMM offers studies in recreation, education, behavioral sciences and physical sciences, including a recognized marine biology program. Enrollment is approximately 1000 students.[1] It is a relatively small institution, both in terms of enrollment and campus size, compared to the other major members of the University of Maine System.
The university has two newly renovated residence halls, Dorward Hall and Sennett Hall. The recognized Greek fraternities on campus are Kappa Delta Phi, Alpha Phi Omega, Kappa Mu Alpha, and Sigma Chi Lambda. The sororities located on campus are Epsilon Sigma Alpha, Kappa Alpha Kappa, Phi Tau Phi, and Kappa Eta. There are also clubs such as the outing and science club.
